Listening Within: The Heart of Dharana

How do we listen - not just with our ears, but with our whole being?

In this yoga and meditation workshop, we will focus on the yogic limb of Dharana (i.e. ‘focused attention’ or ‘concentration’) in service of improving our ability to listen from our hearts. This 2-hour session will include a dharma talk, group discussion, meditation, and asana (physical movement). Grounded in practical techniques from Andrew’s experience as a mental health counselor and integrating core philosophical and practical concepts from the Yoga Sutras, together we’ll have an opportunity to strengthen our muscle of focused attention and sharpen our listening skills. Please join us, we’d love to hear your voice!

About Andrew: Andrew is RYT 200 Certified and has completed over 500 hours of yoga education and training. Based in Bend, Oregon, he currently works as a clinical mental health counselor and is registered with the OBLPCT.
Weaving together elements of classical Vinyasa/Ashtanga yoga, Vipassana meditation, and insights from Western psychology, Andrew’s offerings invite participants to feel into their bodies, observe the movements of the mind, and return to the here and now with the hopes of carrying that awareness off the mat into everyday life.
