Having grown up in a highly competitive tennis environment, Banni lived from an assumption that her happiness and well-being was something to be achieved, something to be won. She carried this mentality well into her adulthood being a CPA and a FBI Agent. But luckily finding the practices of yoga and meditation, she was shown there was a different way, that her happiness and well-being is really an inside job.
Along with teaching at Groove, Banni enjoys working with both teachers and students in our local schools sharing both yoga and mindfulness. She is the author of How Do You See the World? A Book of Mindful Choices along with a mindfulness curriculum designed for elementary aged children.
Banni is a UCLA trained Mindfulness Facilitator as well as a member of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA). She earned her 200 Yoga Teachers Training with Rolf Gates. Other teachers Banni has trained with and have influenced her learning include Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, and Sharon Salzberg.
Banni is a proud mother of two beautiful daughters and enjoys traveling and spending as much time outside with family.
